I am having a love affair with cheese.
Generally good quality amazing cheeses, but I have been known to stand in the kitchen with the fridge door wide open shoveling a handful of light tasty grated cheese down. So it is true. Cheese is my one true love.
I must admit even my husband and I have a running joke about this. It is something we always say to each other – “I love you more than cheese” and we even considered incorporating it in to our wedding ceremony in one way or another. But at the end of the day, my husband won my true love!
On Friday night we were invited to celebrate a birthday for a dear friend, and much to my luck – were treated to an amazing array of cheeses to select from once we finished a beautiful meal.
A delicious Brie, strong blue vein and a hearty bighty cheddar. All of which I adore.
A favourite place to buy all of our cheeses is Formaggi Ocello in Surry Hills, which is where 2 of these were purchased from. With over 200 local and international cheeses, you can either enjoy the cheese in store, or take it home to enjoy with loved ones and friends like we did.
The store itself is breathtaking. A wonderful design intended to make the most of your cheese experience. You can see the purpose-built maturation room which allows the cheeses to age to perfection in specific temperature and humidity conditions.
Not only do they stock a wide variety of some of Australia and the worlds delicious cheeses, there are many accompaniments to be enjoyed with your cheeses, such as fresh bread, crisp breads, jams, mustard fruits and fresh seasonal fruits. They also have premium cured hams from Italy and Spain, and local leg ham and salami freshly sliced.
What more could you want?!
Excellent cheese, produce, wines, food, coffee and service. So head along, and indulge yourself a little!

Every.single.day. Over the 2 weeks I was in Paris I ate cheese for lunch; plat du fromage…. never got sick of it once!
Have you been to the GPO Wine & Cheese Room restaurant? AMAZEBALLS. … My friends took me there for a birthday treat and it is divine. You must go!
YES! I am currently not drinking (but plan to get there as soon as I can!) Our friends invited us this week actually, but figured I can’t go if I can’t enjoy a nice glass of wine to go with it all! x
